With all of this quarantine downtime, it can be hard to find ways to fill your day. Are you streaming the latest shows on Netflix, taking up a new hobby, or trying to stay fit? I know I had that New Years resolution mentality when this pandemic started, but I've really just stuck to Netflix. The only other thing I've been doing to take up time is listen to podcasts. A little over two years ago I decided to see what this whole podcast-craze was about. And let me tell you, there are some great ones out there to help you pass the time. Whether you're on the bus, walking to class, working out, or in this case stuck at home. Here's my top-10 list of podcasts you should listen to. I also included some honorable mentions to check out too.
1. KFC Radio

This podcast is the embodiment of everything comedy. Kevin Francis Clancy (KFC) and John Feitelberg discuss the latest in sports, comedy, and everyday situations from the male perspective. In a way, this podcast is very similar to the attitude that Larry David presents in his television show Curb Your Enthusiasm. These guys bring their uncensored thoughts and opinions to things that other people wouldn't touch or have the courage to actually talk about if they wanted to.
2. Schnitt Talk

If you're looking for advice on dating, relationships, college, social life, and navigating the workplace as a woman, then this is a podcast for you! Ellie Schnitt (Illinois State Alum) and her producer Alanna give their listeners insight into how to navigate your everyday life; being 20-somethings themselves. Not to mention guys can listen to this too, and you should. I've learned a lot from their perspective about how to be a better guy from their tips and advice.
3. VIEWS with David Dobrik and Jason Nash

I'll be honest, up until my junior year of college, I had absolutely no idea who David Dobrik was! It wasn't until my roommate, who lives near David's hometown of Vernon Hills, introduced me to a vlog of his on our living room TV. I couldn't believe that I hadn't watched a single one of this guy's videos before. How have I not come across him or the hilarious content that he puts out?! But now, I've jumped on the bandwagon and keep track of everything he puts out. This podcast is basically an extension of his vlogs he uploads onto YouTube. So if you're a fan of his, you definitely need to check it out!
4. Chick's in the Office

If you're one of those people that has to be in-the-know with everything celebrity, this podcast is for you! Ria and Fran touch base on all news pop culture. Whether it be celebrities (and their relationships), entertainment, music; this podcast keeps you up-to-date on everything new in Hollywood. They also have in-depth interviews with celebrities and what life is like for them in the fast lane.
5. The Ron Burgundy Podcast

I will always consider Anchorman to be one of my favorite comedy movies of all-time. In it, Will Ferrell portrays a simpleminded but suave news anchor from San Diego named Ron Burgundy. Now, nearly six years after Anchorman 2 was released, Will has decided to come back on the airwaves and reprise the role of this comedic character. In it you'll get world class advice and tips from a man who "knows it all" and interviews from a variety of people with hilarious commentary from Ron and his producer Carolina in the process.
6. The TryPod

The Try Guys are a group of four friends that also happen to have their own YouTube channel. On it, Keith (Illinois State Alum), Eugene, Zach and Ned post videos about either one, or all of them, going and trying something new for the first time. Whether it be eating an entire menu from a restaurant or handcuffing themselves together for 24 hours, they've practically done it all. This podcast of is just an extension of their YouTube channel. They go into more depth on their videos, talk about things in pop culture, or what's going on in their lives.
7. Office Ladies

It's safe to say that The Office is considered one of the best shows in TV history, in terms of its lasting impact on pop culture and collection of hilarious characters. Now, Jenna Fisher (Pam) and Angela Kinsey (Angela) are back to discuss everything from The Office. Every episode is a recap of an episode from the series, which they do in chronological order. They give a synopsis and behind-the-scenes discussion from their point of view into how that episode was made, the process that went into it and some general facts.
8. Lights Camera Barstool

Movies have always been a big part of my life. So if you're not interested in movies that much, then this podcast isn't for you. But if it is, you're in luck. Listen along as Jeff D. Lowe, KenJac, and Trillballins break down news from Hollywood about new movies and TV shows, give insight with interviews of actors and celebrities, and review new and old movies and TV shows.
9. Pardon My Take

This podcast is for all the sports fans out there. Big Cat and PFT discuss anything and everything related to sports. Whether it be news from around sporting leagues, teams, players, or coaches, they dish out all of it. They also have interviews with players and coaches, whether they're currently in their sport or not, and discuss their career and aspects in present-day sports.
10. Ear Biscuits

If you haven't seen a Good Mythical Morning video on YouTube, I highly recommend you do so, immediately. Rhett and Link are two best friends that started Good Mythical Morning back in 2012. On their channel they do weird and wacky things that you wouldn't normally see someone post online. They make you laugh and appreciate the fact that being different or weird is okay. This podcast is just an extension of their channel. They talk about their channel, lives, and things that they might've not included in their videos and want to talk about more.
